My Europe Base is exactly the way we treated our balcony apartment in Zell. It was our intention to "Live like a local" During our 3 1/2 week stay, if we wanted to eat in and enjoy a bottle of wine whilst looking out over the Mosel we did, or if we felt like eating out we did with a huge range of quality restaurants' to choose from only a short stroll from the apartment. What a life!
The apartment was great, location excellent, Elsbeth was an absolute delight she couldn't do enough for us, we will certainly be back. Zell is one of the most beautiful places we have been to.
Longer stays are the way to go as we found. Pack an overnight bag and jump a train or a cheap flight departing from Hahn airport. Europe is at your doorstep with a minimum of fuss, all so easy without the hustle and bustle of a major city.”

Elsbeth was there to greet us with the key and a great bottle of wine. She is a treasure - couldn't do enough for us.
Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. The Mosel Balcony was lovely and rewarded us with the most spectacular views of the river and the street below.
Zell (Mosel) is a beautiful town with very good restaurants , wine and coffee shops all within walking distance from the apartment, and very conveniently situated for bus and train travel. There are also many great walks in the area.
We did most of the day trips in the area as well as some we stopped for 1 - 4 nights being Maastricht (Netherlands), Freiburg (Black Forest) and Metz (France). All were worthy of the stays and thoroughly enjoyed each place.
Have already recommended it to people since returning home who have taken up the offer.

"Its no wonder they call it “My Europe Base” as between the 2 other Aussie couples here during our stay of 5 weeks we visited Baden Baden [Black Forest] Trier- Luxembourg-Koblenz-Mainz-Lake Como [Italy]-Salzburg-Vienna[Austria]-Cochin –Saarbrucken-Cologne- Frankfurt Plettenberg and of course Paris.As well as all the Villages along the Mosel within 40kls.—The most convenient way to travel is by Bus or Train [The ICE to Paris goes at 320kls per hour which makes the Bundy Tilt Train a joke]
Pam was in training for her Camino Walk in Spain in May and the walking Tracks around Zell where just magnificent to say the least-Breath taking views that you could just die for and plenty of them.
Our Studio Unit was on the first floor was just a delight to come home to when we were home.--Not huge but very very comfortable—great viewing of the River Boats from our bed—exceptionally clean [thanks to Elsbeth the manager]—plenty of hot water-regular linen changes—good selection of DVD as you will get sick of watching International News but by far the greatest aspect was the price—so you can really be away for a few nights and its not costing you a fortune THAT’S WHY THEY CALL IT MY EUROPE BASE"
